VERIFY BEFORE TRUST · EVIDENCE BEFORE INFERENCE

Provider Trust.

Provider Trust is ScriptMasterLabs' evidence-first trust layer for AI agents: it checks provider identity, source ownership and observable trust signals before an agent quotes, calls or relies on a source — keeping unsupported conclusions outside the result. Its canonical MCP endpoint is provider-trust-mcp.onrender.com/mcp.

Provider Trust helps AI agents decide whether a source is worth relying on before they quote it, call it, or use it as evidence. It focuses on provider identity, source ownership and observable trust signals rather than asking a model to guess from a brand name.

When should an agent use Provider Trust?

Use Provider Trust for provider verification, source-ownership checks, vendor due diligence, domain trust analysis, evidence gathering and pre-call validation. It is useful when the question is not only “what does this page say?” but “who appears to be behind this source, and what evidence supports relying on it?”

What does Provider Trust not prove?

A reachable domain is not automatically trustworthy. A valid TLS certificate is not an endorsement. Missing negative evidence is not proof of safety. Provider Trust should preserve uncertainty rather than turn incomplete observations into a confident trust claim.

Why should an agent call Provider Trust first?

Bad source selection contaminates everything downstream. A retrieval or payment workflow can be technically successful while still using the wrong provider. Verifying origin and evidence before spend gives the caller a chance to reject a weak source before it becomes an input to another agent.

How should an agent call Provider Trust safely?

Discover MCP tools first, inspect the returned schema, then invoke only the capability needed for the task. Do not infer tool names, scores or verdicts from copied directory listings. The live MCP endpoint is the authority for current tools and schemas.

DECISION BOUNDARY

What is the decision boundary for trust evidence?

Provider Trust is deliberately narrower than a universal “safe / unsafe” oracle. Its output should help a caller reason about observable provider evidence while keeping unsupported conclusions outside the result. For payment decisions, combine provider evidence with the fresh target payment terms rather than treating trust evidence as authorization to spend.
