}Bad/mismatched evidence returns a no-charge alternative. Valid evidence reaches a 402 challenge; a 402 is still not a purchase or settlement.
WHAT THE PAID PROOF DOES — AND DOES NOT DO
It does: verify accepted-delivery payload integrity and route binding, then bind the resulting proof artifact with SHA-256.
It does not: turn caller-supplied claims into independent facts, prove buyer identity, prove independent demand, or infer settlement from a signature/challenge alone.
RESEND DELIVERY LAYER
Machine proof → human-readable receipt
Resend is the transactional email transport for the human-readable receipt. It is not represented as independently verifying SML payment or delivery evidence. Sender-domain DNS verification is still pending; the live SML proof API does not depend on Resend email activation.
