VA says disability claims can use service records, medical records, test results and supporting statements. For increased claims, current evidence can show that a service-connected disability worsened. For secondary claims, VA looks for evidence of the new condition and a link to the already service-connected disability. A claim exam may be scheduled when VA needs more information.
